We found the heaviest gravity catch we could and had it manufactured in 5.5 mm (almost 1/4") thick stainless steel. 8" long bar (1/2" diameter) . Heavy plastic coated stainless steel pull cord included.

The gate spring is usually the first hardware to show rust. Metal of the spring moves under the powder coat causing the coating to crack. Water enters and the rust migrates under the powder coating resulting in chunks flaking off. Our stainless spring will not rust. Spring is 1 1/8" diameter by 10.5" long. Overall Length is 13.5". Top tension tightening with pin.
